black into L2 at switch.

Those earth wires should be sleeved with green & yellow sleeving. now some nitty gritty: I see no earth wire, does your new light have the double insulated symbol - 2 square boxes?

Put black to L2 now it trips at box when put on so take it the combination is wrong and switch cable is not where its ment to be

Did you connect the wiring into the connector block in your pic ? If so ,you have probably mixed up the neutrals with the switched live

You showed us a picture of red ,black ,and unsleeved copper wires in a connector block. Did you make those connections into the connector blocks terminals ? If you did,you have done it wrong and connected the switched live to a neutral

All red Live are in one connector and Blacks are 2 in to blue Neutral and 1 black to in to brown live

Have you got a multimeter Alan ? One of the 2 black wires that are together in the same terminal is a switched live.

Yeah I do have one somewhere, how would I test to find it setting power on or off don't want blown across the room lol
