Title says it all really. I have hard wood floors through out the down stairs of my house. I am now fitting a new kitchen and dining area. Problem if the concrete kitchen floor is about 10mm higher than the wood floors in the hallway and dining area.

The idea was to fit tiles to the kitchen floor, but they are about 8mm thick. Lifting the wooden floors to suit the concrete is'nt that easy as i would have to lift half the house.

If there is a way of removing an inch of concrete and if so how do i keep it level? It's only about 10sq meters

i would be grateful for any ideas

yes thanks john, kinda thought about that, but the entrance from the front is half way along the hallway. so it would be more os a hump than a ramp.

I think i am going to have to bite the bullet, smash a couple of inches off and level it.
