How many circular soffit vents?

How many/what centres do I need for circular soffit vents in an otherwise solid 9 metre run of uPVC soffit boards?

We stopped using circular vents a decade ago but I remember when we did we used a roofing and venting chart to calculate the exact spacing and it was every ten inches!!

We use over fascia vents nowadays.
