We're creating new door partitions by knocking through walls etc. How much of an opening should I generally allow for, in the case of a door way between a bedroom and an ensuite and also as I need to have this opening a certain distance away from the side wall which will accommodate a deeper than usual cupboard, how much to allow for the door surrounds etc? I was thinking 850mm away from the wall, to allow for an 800mm deep cupboard to the side of the door opening and 50mm for door surrounds?
