Hello folks,

I've inherited a Halstead in a new house and need to adjust to water pressure - it's 1.5 to 2.0 when in use but drops to 1.0 when idle. Looking up into I see what's below - not quite by the book I'm guessing - could someone point me at the right valve? Helpfully, it's not marked in the manuals....

Thanks

JDE

Don't touch it - the pressure readings you describe are SPOT ON!!

Water expands when heated, which causes a rise in pressure provided it is at 1 when idle and no more than 3.0 when hot there is no fault!! ;)

Hmm....

With a cold pressure of about 1.0 Bar the expansion vessel should absorb the expansion of a normal size semi house system and results in an increase in pressure to only about 1.3 Bar.

I suggest you look at the FAQ on this site and check/repressurise the EXV.

Tony - on most Combi's the pressure guage is influenced by the circulation pump I stand by the advice I gave the OP NO Fault with system!! ;)
