As title really...

I think I understand the difference between oil, waxoil and varnish...and have ruled out varnish due to not wanting it to 'sit on' the floor as I've noticed with my doors...

From what I can tell, waxoil is better than oil...but, is Mahogany a tropical wood...thus oil is better?

It's only for our lounge, so not particularly heavy traffic...but want to bring out the texture of the wood...

Anyone got any experience of treating Mahogany???

Thanks!

Thanks for the info WYL...I'm confused though, is Mahogany a tropical wood or not?

Thanks!

Yes it is. Frequently used in parquet and mosaic floors in the "olden days", just like Teak and Merbau.
