After following ChrisR's advice by pushing the pipe into the fitting, then loosening the screw a little, pulling the pipe and then tightening the fitting, I've had a dry night (sound like a 5yr old bedwetter ) and the leak seems to have stopped. Fingers crossed it stays OK.
Whilst spending some time in the loft it seems that most of the joints are grey Hep20 fittings, just two tee joints which are white speedfit. I guess they must of run out and decided to use them! So i'm a little miffed that these are the ones that have leaked. But I don't suppose 15 months after the job was complete they'd be interested in coming back and changing them free of charge
