Hi,

I have just returned from a two week holiday. Before I left I turned the timer (Siemens RWB9) off so as not to waste gas (& money) while I was away. When I returned, I turned the timer on. The boiler (Potteron Profile 40NG) fired up briefly for about 5 seconds and then went out. It has since fired up a couple of hours later but again only briefly.

Why is it that the water is not heating up. Everything was working fine before I left and now have to have cold showers.

Do I need to do anything like adjust the pressure or is there something I'm missing?

Thank you

Mick

If the boiler fired at all then the motorised valve and at least the cylinder thermostat are probably fine. I would be checking the pump at this point. If it's not running the boiler will quickly overheat and shut down.

If you do a search on this forum there is loads of advice on how to check a pump.
