Hello..... some 12 months ago I had a new combi boiler fitted, I am not conversant with it. I have removed a radiator and need to alter pipework to fit a heated towel rail instead.
I have a drain connector at the lowest point in the system, do I just switch everything off and open the drain tap useing a suitable length of hose pipe?..
More important, how do I start it again?, do I just turn everthing back on and open filler tap till pressure reaches one and a half bar?

Also the upstairs hot water (basin tap) screams every time we use it. what's the cause of this?

All advice appreciated....Mike

mike, firstly yes connect hose to lowest rad with drain off, open drain off when water has stopped go and open bleed valves on upstairs rads, this will get rid of all upstairs water. now you can get to work on pipework. to refill close all bleed valves and drain offs, fill via filling loop top up to about 1.5 bar then bleed downstairs rads first then upstairs whilst doing this you will have to keep topping up via loop, finish at about 1bar, then you are done, as for noise it may be something as simple as a new washer, pennies.
