I can't see you need a kit, there are only a few parts you need, plus some cable. A Wiring Centre will make the wiring easier for you.

I changed my old mum's system using a 2-port valve and cyl stat, this made it more economical to run and prevented the hot water getting scalding. Making it fully pumped also made it heat the cylinder more quickly, so I would recommend this (you'll need a 3-port valve and the pipework may be more of a job). If you have short vertical pipe runs between boiler and cylinder it may not be such a problem for you.

Incidentally, although I had cleaned the system well with X400 and a Magnaclean, after I changed the HW circuit to pumped, a lot more old black sediment came out, obviously it has been lurking in the pipes and coil.

BTW insulate that cylinder better with a second jacket, and put climaflex on those pipes.

Hi John,
just ordered a tank stat and wiring centre. will my existing honeywell be up to the task?

Bloody great - mrs just called - all rads off apart from one upstairs & one downstairs !!!
Home lunchtime to shut it all down apart from living room - driving me nuts!!!

Hopefully the final update. Turns out the pump was terminal so that's gone and a new 15/50 takes it's place. Drained system and cleaned all the ****e out of the F&E tank and cleaner in for a few days - messy!!!
Powered all back up and bar a bit of balancing all's looking good :D
Parts on the way to convert to C plan as HW is dangerously hot. Magnaclean under consideration while I think where I can squeeze it in!!
Cheers for all the advice
Paul.

HW is dangerously hot.

Boiler stat up full = 82 degC - 180 degF

Magnaclean under consideration while I think where I can squeeze it in

Preferrably on heating return before boiler but anywhere really. All the system water will run through it no matter where it is.
