Hi all!
I'm typing on behalf of my Dad cos him and PC's don't get on! He's telling me what to type!

Installed boiler 4 years ago and had no problems up until now. Central heating overheats, forcing steam and water out through expansion pipe and boiler pressure goes up to and over 3 bar on highest setting. Anyone know if this a possible expansion vessel problem?

Looking forward to any answers!!
Thanks

Check Pump first as previous.

If the boiler opertes for a short while and the pressure increases not too quickly and the pump IS working then it might be an idea to isolate and drain the boiler and check the expansion vessel charge pressure. This will need to be done with the boiler drain open to atmosphere and also if you need to recharge it. I always try and check the feed pipe to the vessell also as sometimes this can get blocked. if the pipe is blocked be careful as there will be pressure on the vessell connection and water will spray out. need to be careful that the electrics and pcb dont get water on them.

Wet and dry Vac ??? great idea

Ok Dads not here but i can answer, Yes we get hot water from all of the taps, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and a utility room.

The problem with these is that you have to remove the fan assembly to get at the expansion vessel test valve

Really is a job for a corgi.

Slight possibility of DV stuck on hw. DV on these are notorious for sticking.
