Hi, I've just been quoted £1350 for an ideal logic plus 30kw installed in my end terrace - 3 big bedrooms, 9 radiators and a shower.

I've done some googling and the ideal logic plus got some negativity but all the posts I read are relatively old and in one more recent post I saw, I did see it mentioned that the ideal logic have improved.

Is this the case? He does also fit Vallance boilers but seemed determined to sell me a Ideal

Any help appreciated.

Fitted 40 plus of these(logic +) last year, very good boiler imo.Ideal have had a major image problem from producing utter carp boilers in the past but finally seem to have got their act together.

Price is very good what exactly is entailed in the quote.

Thank you. I think we will go with it.

As far as I understand, quote includes removing old boiler and fully fitting with all gas certificates, the fitting of a logic plus 30 including everything needed for that install. Basically, fully fitting new boiler !

He is the husband of a friend we know so I expect he price will be good. I was more concerned about the boiler quality but that seems ok based on your replies!

Quality? From my own experience, horrific. Of the five Logics (two Combi, three System) we currently have on our books (none of them fitted by us), four of them have broken down at some point, with one of those four being DOA out of the factory and I'm attending it again now for a second breakdown. Three of them are only 18 months old, of which one is the one that's broken twice. Good luck...

Have a look at the baxi duo-tec's. now come with a 7 year warranty! i know of 5 people incuding myself who have the 28kw. no reported problems as yet, oldest boiler is nearly 6 years old. only issue we have had is the batteries going flat on the wireless stat!

We have gone with the ideal logic plus. It looks a nice boiler, nicer than our Halstead He30 (but then again a potato would have been!). Fitting seemed to go smoothly and so far so good. Easy to use and looks fairly simple to service should anything go wrong. I guess time will tell. There seemed to be horror stories about any boiler I googled!!

I'll come back on here and post any faults should anything go wrong in the future, it is early days.

I doubt it for £1300.

Am I count to spam every thead?

No boiler is perfect but Wocester are easy to fault diagnose, easy to fix, their technical team pick up calls within seconds and their after service is far better than all other manufactures.... And at least they employ their own engineers - more than can be said of Atag and Intergas.

I'm a service engineer who turns down a lot of work - so yes mate, I would say I'm pretty up to date on things.
