Ikea Whirlpool dwf b10 problem with wash cycle

Photo unattached....but it makes no difference. Buy a new cap & I'm sure you'll be up & running again.

thanks for all your help i will try and source a new cap and let you know haw i get on is the 4 uf the importnant bit?

Now the pic appeared....was it my eyes or number of empty cans at my feet?
Yes that's your baby, 4uf is what the motor is designed for. It is a very common size & readily available. Google it or pop into your local domestic appliance centre. Shouldn't cost you much.

new capacitor arrived today popped it on and screwed her back together. Ran a cycle and it worked perfectly. I even didnt have any screws leftover....I cant believe i was seriously looking to order a new machine for the sake of a £3 part.

Thanks very much for all your help

My IKEA Whirlpool DWH B10 would not complete a cycle. The dishwasher would stop after the tablet ejected and just ‘hum’.

I read this post and the symptoms seemed to be the same so, after checking for blockages, I bought a new capacitor from Maplins (£3.49) and replaced it. The Maplins capacitor comes with four pins pins, not the two that come with the machine. No worries though, just connect one cable to one pin either side of the raised ridge on the top of the capacitor (so you are connecting 1+ and 1- pin).

Two test wash cycles later all is good!

If your IKEA Whirlpool DWH B10 does not complete its cycle and ejects the tablet then stops then please follow the advice on this post!

(Yes lots of keyword repetition so hopefully this will show up in Goggle [sic] and save you £95 for a call out!)

Thanks to Zipper.

Same problems.
Changed capacitor.
Maplins in the uk only had a 3uf not 4 uf, i tried it and it works but iam going to order the correct one tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone, thought i was going to have to buy a new machine

In all probability it'll work ok with a 3uf cap. If the motor stalls change it out with a 4uf.
