We recently aquired an indesit evolution 1100 WE12 washing machine but we were told every now and then it does not drain but it may be to an inlet valve, this may be true as if the machine is not being used it fills up with water even when turned off,and after a wash if we leave the washing in there for a while then it needs to be run on a drain cycle to clear the water.

Does anyone have any ideas to the problem and how to solve it?

Many thanks

Jamie

If it's clean water then one of the inlet valves is faulty.
If it's dirty water then it's syphoning back from the drain.

Remove soap drawer and check for any dripping at the back. If it is dripping turn off the hot valve under the sink and check to see if it is stilll dripping, if it is still dripping do the same with the cold fill and you can see what valve is letting by. Usually it is the hot valve and is caused by either roadworks in the area letting dirt into the supply or the hot water from your fill is too hot and damaging the diaphram in the valve.
