I wish to replace my existing bath with a new one in the same position.
Unfortunately the toilet soil pipe runs at floor level the full length of the bath along the wall the bath sits against (if this makes any sense).
This would mean that I wouldn't be able to use the new baths supporting feet on one long side.
My existing bath is cast iron and whoever fitted the bath got around this problem by supporting it on bricks!
Would a modern steel bath be strong enough for this method of support? Or would I be better off fixing a support baton to the wall, which is an external wall, but i'm still concerned about the weight.
Any advice gratefully appreciated, thank you.

Any chance you could have the soil pipe moved outside along the bath wall?

Thanks for the suggestion but the soil pipe runs along the wall the bath is butted up against and then passes through the internal wall to the toilet which is in its own room next door, so can't be moved.
