Can anyone help! I want to put in a new socket on a wall(plasterboard),I know how to connect it up to an existing socket further along the same wall but how do i get the cable from the existing socket to the new socket through the wall when there are also studs behind the wall that are in the way??? Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

I've done it using a 2" hole saw, cut a hole where the cable needs to cross the stud, I went into the stud by about 1". Remove the wood and plasterboard with a chisel that leaves a slot for the cable to pass the stud. Put a small piece of sheathing over the top and fill the remaining hole with filler or plaster.
