Insulation density?

The new building standards require acoustic insulation in floors & partitions with mineral wool of density of 10kg/msq. I contacted Knauf Insulation and they refused to divulge the density of their insulation due to a 'policy decision'. Is there something they need to hide? Does anybody know where I can find an indication of the density of glassfibre quilt insulation which will meet this reqirement? I know that it can be deduced, but the local authority where I am normally require a document with the required information stated somewhere.

What you want to be asking for is the product data sheet, all products/materials sold to the building trade should have one.

you are in scotland.. so have different regs..

the new regs here are for new builds only.. they will slowly generate to extensions and refurbs. but not as yet..
