Hi,
We're insulating our roof with 140mm kingspan. To keep the costs down I'm wondering about using insulation 'seconds'. But before going ahead I'm wanting to know if there is any disadvantage of using these compared to firsts.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I used celotex seconds on the roof of my extension. You can save a fair bit of cash. There is usually a bit of damage, but not anything serious.
aandainsulationseconds are quite cheap.

Also secondsandco.co.uk
Last order with them I got a mixture of brands - some kingspan and the 25mm boards were some unknown make with and pink inside, that was less fibrous and more powdery than kingspan or celotex. You could probably specify exactly what makes you want.

Could you tell us where the good quotes were from ? I have only found cheaper than seconds for large orders - was yours a large order ?
Simon.

Probably worth posting a second time.
Oh for sure!

No, sorry, i was ona freinds computer, couldnt find a 'subscribe to this thread' button and wanted to make a record of it for future.

I'd never really seen seconds available, beyond my local BM somtimes knocking 10% off if you found one with a corner missing so wanted to have a look at www.secondsandco.co.uk .
