I have just purchased 2 white oak veneered interior doors from Homebase but see on the instructions that they are " not suitable for treatment with wax or oil". Does anyone know why this would be and can anyone recommend an alternative to varnish or paint? I have tried wax on one edge and it looks beautiful.
