I Plastered my first room and the external walls which are 9"inch imperial solid none cavity. So a DIY friend told me that you have to render internally which I did using sand and cement ratio 4parts sand 1 part cement.
I have three questions. 1. Should have I rendered at all.
2. 10mm render ,12mm undercoat bonding finishing with 2 coates of thistle finish 2mm.
3. could I have used lime to help the inside wall breath.
I saw a Tommy Walsh talking about a stone building whose owner used render like me on the internal wall and caused damp problems.
