Hmmmm ...i wonder if it could be the one that says "sludge remover" on it
ps...i took me ages to do that lot so just accept it and move on.

Thanks guys for the replies, I'll give it a try soon but first I'm trying to get the boiler fixed as it broke down yesterday
(pilot light keeps going out when I take my finger off the gas valve button)
Any ideas?
Ive had the same problem on my boiler before, had new thermocouple, made no difference. Ended up with a new gas valve (not very cheap).
