i have my thermostat set to off mode which is generally a frost protection mode if it falls below 5C it fires up but when i was putting my kids tonight the boiler kicked in for approx 1 minute. even though house temp is 18C is this normal or do i have a fault, i have noticed this a couple of times before but thought nothing of it till now, can anyone help with this dilemma the boiler is in a locked cupboard in the kids room??

It will fire up intermittantly as it has a preheat function. (Stores a small amount of preheated hot water for the taps)

Quite often though with a sticky diverter will cause this heat to be dumped to the rads meaning they come on during the summer.
