My house only has a shower not a bath but I'd like to get one fitted. The house was built in about 1850 and the joists aren't particularly big ranging from 2.5 to 3.5" wide by 6" deep. Spaced about 11" apart (but again this varies a bit!). Before I get someone in to check all else is okay does this sound like the reason there is no currently -the weight is would be too much? I ask particularly as the survey did make a point of saying the "joists were not up to modern standards"
