I have a circular saw - the handheld type - and soon I will have some wood to cut. How can I make sure I cut straight? I don't have a workshop or anything and not much space except out back. What should I get to get the job done?

Thanks

A straight edge and two soft jaw clamps ,a roofing square a couple of workmates should do the job,the straight edge can be a length of 8" conti board clamped to the work top run the saw down the edge don't forget to work out reduction from side of base to blade edge ,best done with a bit of trial and error and keep all of the board well supported when cutting "O"and before you cut run a knife down the cut line to stop breakout

wardrobe out of 40 mm wortop, bloody hell that aint going to fall down now is it,
show us the plans, :)

Laminated worktop is very hard, so you MUST use a TCT blade. It is also very heavy. Are you going to make your wife carry it upstairs?

how many watts are your saw do you have at least 2 new blades with tct teeth
do not use worktop for a cupboard the weight will bw far to much
the wasted space a bit silly and the finished item well ----interesting
yes you can use worktop for working shelves but not for the structure unless very well planned with assembly in position ;)
