Can 2 Kilowatt meters be connected in parallel without affecting the performance of either, reason for this scenario is for 1 meter to upload data to a computer, whilst the other meter gives a visual indicator of the load.Thanking everyone in advance for their replies.

It may be possible to connect them in series.
A far better option would to use a current transformer ( CT )to measure current and an interface module to convert the CT analogue signal into a digital signal to suit the computors needs.
If the supply voltage is very variable then a voltage sensor can be added and the computor does the V A calculation.
