Kitchen worktop - stainless steel edging

I bought some Ikea worktop the other day but I want to put a different edging on it - stainless steel, or stainless steel effect. The worktop is square edged.

Any ideas where I could go? I've tried a couple of places and they've said they'll only supply the edging if I'm buying the worktop too!

Also, would people advise that I trim the existing worktop, or simply put the new edging (providing I find it) straight on top?

Ali angle? Use a trim router to rebate the 3mm or required for the angle to sit flush.

Formica make a range of metal effect laminates that can be cut into strips and stuck to your top, I would remove the existing edging.
