Surely not.

Tory voters really love a dishonest, incompetent, lying adulterer. That's why they like Johnson.

They all sounded positive about the result, as Mandy Rice Davies once said.....

... Starmer resigns, which he would have had to if they lost Batley,
So if Labour lose a seat in a by-election, the leader is expected to resign.
But if a Tory contravenes the ministerial code, has a love in on taxpayer money, ignores social distancing rules, tries to prorogue Parliament illegally, lies to the Queen, tells lies about the Contracts awarded. awards contracts to his mates, and their mates, breaks international agreements, there's no expectation to resign?

Can we have a reality check, please?

He is a nasty bit of work, a troublemaker.

He has been stirring up the Muslim community, who in Batley and Spen are very supportive of Palestine.
There's nowt wrong with supporting Palestine, and to be fair to Galloway, he always has.

They may be hankering after the leader's job, but I'm fully confident they were pleased to see Labour hold the seat.

The fact of the matter is they desperately want to oust Kier, bring a leadership challenge and see a return to the Corbyn 'Glory years'. Under Labour rules, they need the backing of 40 MP's to bring a challenge to an incumbent PM, if however, Kier Starmer was to resign, which he was widely expected to do by many in the Labour Party if he lost Batley, they would only need the backing of 20 MP's to mount a leadership challenge.

These are the widely reported facts, of course certain MP's are not going to break cover and admit this because they would likely lose the whip.

That would appear to be about the size of it.

So your reply to Notch7 was not intended to be a serious response? You answered a question that wasn't asked.

Labour have always had a rather stupid problem unless you go back nearer Wilson's era. MP's and others that are involved being prepared to knock the current leader publicly even if it's just private comments to the media. The media love it and make use of it when ever they can.

The other parties are more sensible. Usually near zero until a leadership election occurs. ;) There has been some exceptions recently even with Boris. Another was Tarzan and Mrs T. It's very unusual. Changes just usually happen.

The Tories are also much better at using more modern techniques for swinging people's opinion. I feel Labour have always been a bit weak in this area. It started with the use of professional advertising agencies in Mrs T's days. Suspect they have more money as well which helps and plenty of rich supporters that one way or the other will also help.
