I’m trying to get a lacquered effect on one of my ceilings (which has just been skimmed).

After a bit of reading, it seems that the best way to go is to:
- spray mist coat
- remove any imperfections from the surface

And then use a HVLP sprayer to apply the paint.. I’ve been looking into using a water based gloss (as I didn’t want a 'see your face’ reflective surface).

Has anyone here attempted this, or have any advice for me?

Why do you want a lacquered effect on your ceiling?

Sounds bizarre. I spend a lot of time persuading old ladies NOT to have glossy ceilings. So Old Folks Home!
