i'm about to start laying tongue and groove bamboo flooring and was wondering if gluing into the groove is better than trying to nail the boards
down. any ideas?

Depends on the width of your bamboo boards - if narrower than 100mm then it is not recommended to install floating (glueing T&G's).
Fully bonding them to the floor with flexible adhesive would be better.
