Why 2 red ?

Normally there is 3 red together. permanent live.

Two blacks together with the new light neutral.

One black with red sleeve to the new fitting switched live

And earths

With the wires safely in terminal blocks, and enclosed in the top of the light fitting, there should be no need for a box or tape.

Some people tape it up also but it is not essential

That drawing shows two red in one cable, in real life it is usually red and black
The black just having a red marker tape on it to denote its the switch return
