I hate having the last word

Limey

The term is thought to have originated in the 1850s as lime-juicer,[3] later shortened to "limey",[4] and originally used as a derogatory word for sailors in the British Royal Navy. Since the beginning of the 19th century it had been the practice of the Royal Navy to add lemon juice to the sailors' daily ration of grog(watered-down rum). The vitamin C(specifically L-ascorbic acid) in citrus fruits prevented scurvy[2]

What I said. It's where it originated from.
And it is now considered a slang word for Brits. Please see the dictionary terms.

It doesn't, as far as I know or ever have known, refer to men who are very ill.

And short for Pakistani is? ??
Short for Australian is???
Exactly. How can the name of their country be derogatory?

I will say that it probably isn't their fault but rather some white person who thought they should be offended (I don't know the proper word). Isn't Social Justice Warrior the term used.

There is also the point (overlooked) that Pakistanis aren't a separate race, anyway, are they?

India was divided by people's religious persuasion. Religion the cause of trouble as usual.

Yes I've been to what was East Pakistan they obviously never considered themselves as Pakistani but that would again be down to some white person who never knew the culture history or geography.

I see the racists are still trying to argue that racism is a figment of someone's imagination.
They should try asking the victims!

The clue is in the sentence

Sorry.

What's your point. Why must their be an abbreviation?

Short for Indian is? Malaysia is?

What are you on about?

Dumbo's as usual don't understand context, why one word used in a different context can be pejorative and racist.

I shouldn't imagine it was a white person who decided that the word was offensive, but happy to be corrected if you can find out.

The fact that the word arrives from Pakistani is neither here or there. The word has been used in a derogatory fashion for years and that is why it is offensive.

The P word has a 50 year old history of being an ethnic/racist slur. There was the 'hobby' of Pak-bashing in the UK which was rife in the 70's and 80's, the word was used in a derogatory fashion in newspapers, TV shows and the like. That can't be undone.
