Lining paper over vinyl silk question

I’m just about to paper my bedroom walls with lining paper as the surface is a little uneven and I’d like it to look better. The walls are currently painted with vinyl silk, so do I still need to size the walls diluted paste first or is there something else I need to do to do a proper job?

Lightly sand to remove the sheen dust off and apply your size.

Only if the walls are heavily soiled otherwise you would be fine to continue.
