Hello,

Will the normal ant powder you get from supermarkets get rid of those little red ants (the ones we used to call blood ants at school!)?

Cheers

Don't start me!

I've spent the last few months sorting the inside of the house and am just moving out to the garden now :)

Don't worry - it won't last. I'll get bored soon and give up until next year!

Unless the ants are in the house I wouldn't bother. There will be millions of the little blighters underground and you will never get rid of them, its a battle not worth fighting. ;)

It's a pain in the you-know-what when you're sat outside and they're crawling all over you :)

Especially if they really do suck your blood!

They don't suck your blood, they just give you an itchy injection of formic acid. Which incidentally probably explains why the french for ant is fourmi :D

Formic acid, arrrgh, I meant methanoic acid of course.

Sort out the knotweed first, then attack the red ants.
Meanwhile, put your house back on the market and keep your gob shut ! ;)

knotweed big problem as far as i know you have to poison it out
red ants dig the nest up kill the queen (shes the big one)
end of nest..... problems always come in three...... you'll probably need a gun!!!!!!!!!!!
