Went to an empty house today to look at a leak under sink and was informed by landlord that property company had sent someone previous to do a cert on the gas.on passing the gas fire.

I noticed the coals were not sitting anything like you would expect and would say they hadn't been touched by anyone other than someone previously with no knowledge of living flame appliances.

Maybe the fire was lit and the flue tested for spillage.

Surely this fire should have been removed and the chamber and flue inspected.
What course of action should be taken in such circumstances.

but by a quick visual inspection of the coal layout it ain't gonna tell you too much and how do you know if the pattern of the loose coals is incorrect without the mi's
