hi,
the shower has a low pressure, its athemostatic mixer fed from a gravity fed system.
if i was to raise header tank in loft would this increase pressure enough for a decent shower.
at present the header tank is approx 1.2mtr above shower.
thanks in advance,
steve

Check the specs of your shower head and valve first.

Raising the cold storage tank will gain you 0.1 Bar for every metre you can raise it, but that's unlikely to be adequate for a high pressure shower unless you can build something like a 30 foot high water tower on top of your roof!

Some shower heads and shower valves are designed to work with mains pressure supplies, e.g pressures of 1 Bar or more. They nearly always disappoint when fitted to a gravity system.

Valves and shower heads for low pressure (gravity) systems are usually designed to work at pressures as low as 0.2 or 0.1 Bar. They usually achieve good flow rates even with the low pressure available.

Or, as above, fit a pump.

Thanks for all replies.
The pressure has bee the same since we moved in.
The house is a fairly new one so the shower as fitted when built so I'm assuming its a low pressure unit.
I could probably raise tank about 1.5 mtr.
Don't think a 30 ft water on roof would look good :)
So I'll look into fitting pump. The part I may struggle with is the "flange"
Are the easy to fit to water tank.
Cheers again
Steve
