Hi guys, do you use ls-x for the same things you would use plumbersmate?

I use it for the same things as you would bosswhite/green. Generally, as a jointing compound for compression fittings.

Its great stuff if you put the lid back on after you use it otherwise you'll spend time picking the cured stuff out the top. Pricey though...
 
99% of the time I use Boss White for olive compression joints, etc.

I keep a tube of LSX for problem joints. For example, the other day, I had a new microbore pipe to rad valve joint that just would not stop weeping whatever I did to it. The joint involved those reducing set olives.

I put some LSX in, and job's a good 'un!

Generally don't use it but had to make up some cast iron radiators last week, previous lot leaked from the section joints as no sealant was used on the gaskets, as per manufacturers instructions. Sealed these latest ones with LS-X and no leaks!
