I have a machine that I have mail ordered from South Africa. It has arrives with no plug and the flex had 2 cables one white and one white with a black stripe. Which cable goes where is an english plug?

Does the machine say it's rated at 230V/50Hz ?
Does the machine say it's double insulated, or carry the double insulation symbol? (a square inside another square).
If so, then it doesn't matter. One is live, one is neutral. Take your pick.
If it's not double insulated, then you shouldn't use it.
