Manthorpe vent lap spacers

Hi

Just put a few of these in to combat moisture in loft. One of the felt overlaps was quite tight and I now have small vertical tear (few inches) one on section of felt.

Will that be a problem?

That's going to depend on how much overlap there was in the first place! my advise is next time its raining hard
take a look and see.

Ok, will monitor. Is there a fix for this or would all the felt have to be replaced?

BTW- vent laps are great and have dried out all condensation in about two days

Your fix would be to get a piece of felt about 18" long
and the width of what fits between the rafters 15" ish
depending on how old the house is, if you make it slightly
wedge shaped it will only slide in between the felt
laps so far.
