My Maytag dishwasher (model: MSE560FAKW) has a built-in water softener. The dishwasher is less than a year old and has worked fine until the last time I replaced the salt in the softener. It is now leaving huge amounts of salt residue on the dishes, where the dishes have to be hand rinsed.
I've tried taking the cap off the salt dispenser and checking it with my fingers inside -- it's filled with water and as far as I can tell, it's ok. This is a different brand of salt than we've used before, but as far as I know, nothing else has changed.
I've run several loads of dishes and the problem isn't lessening. Any ideas of why it's doing this or what to do to fix it?
Many thanks.
