Hi,

I have a boiler which is operated by a programmable thermostat. However the mechanical timer on the boiler doesn't work. Is it meant to be like that? i.e. if you have a thermostat installed then mechanical timer becomes redundant?

Thermostat is Salus RT-500F
Boiler is Baxi 30Kw

The thermostat also contains a timer - you set both temperature and the time you want that temperature.

The mechanical timer is not required, and has probably been disconnected, but left in place to avoid having a big hole in the front of the boiler.
