Hello.

Advice needed please - Is it a good idea replacing the 2 relief valves in the attached picture?

Background info: Got the property 3 years ago, the Megaflo HE worked well. There is a huge amount of lime deposits on the Expansion Relief Valve (foreground) and a bit on the TPR Valve (background). There should have been a lot of leakage but we don't know what exactly happened.

Why am I asking - I tried restoring the air gap. Forced too much the TPR valve and heard a crack noise, then the plastic knob moved freely without opening the valve. Cracked something, doh - I am going to get someone replace it.

My question is whether it's a good idea to replace both valves? What trusty spare parts store to buy from Megaflo parts, which ones are good value?
(https://www.heatingspareparts.com/boiler-spares/partno/95607095/320271 for example?)

Many thanks,

Adrian

Unfortunately you need to get someone qualified in to sort it out for you. It's not something that should be DIY'ed. Get them to service and they will recommend which valves need replaced.

You may have twisted the valve the wrong way. The engineer should sort that.
