So we are planning on having a side extension on the house and as such one side of the house has go to come down to enable to new extension to be built. As such our current Consumer unit and Power into the house has got to be moved from the side of the house thats coming down. UKPN have come out and we have agreed a fee on site for them cut into the current supply and relocate it into a Kiosk located within our front garden in a meter Kiosk. UKPN have requested that all of the trenches be dug and the hole around the current supply before they come in and complete the work which is fine.

Heres where it gets confusing we have had 2 electricians come in and quote us to install a base in the front garden for the new meter kiosk to be installed on this will have two Ducts going into it one for the new supply and the other for the new cable installed by UKPN. From the meter kiosk Armoured cable will then run inside one of the ductings into the House to the Consumer unit which will be relocated somewhere else in the house away from the demolition and construction works. Now the questions:

Electrician 1 has quoted for the Ducting going into the Meter Kiosk to be 2X100mm ducts one for UKPN to utilise and the other for the armoured cable to the house. He has also quoted for 16mm armoured cable to the board

Electrician 2 has quoted the same works as above with 50mm ducts into the meter kiosk and 25mm armoured cable into the board?

Whos right and as above both quotes are for different things although I asked them both about one another's quote there response was thats what I will install?

Thanks in advance

Both are suitable solutions. IMO 100mm duct is oversize, unless the route has bends. 25mm SWA is stiff and has an outside diameter of 25mm. It doesn't like corners!
