MicroGENUS HE - No hot water - No heat coming through central heating. (PLEASE HELP!)
1) Boiler make / model (gas or oil)
MicroGENUS HE 24 MFFI (gas)
2) What is / is not happening.
No hot water - No heat coming through central heating system
3) Has ANYTHING else been done or changed recently.
Around a week ago the radiators were checked for excess air in the system. After the air was released from the radiators, the pressure levels shown on the “Central Heating System Pressure Gauge” was below normal causing the boiler to shut down (E 02). Pressure was later reinstated restoring the normal functioning of the boiler.
4) When did the problem start?
Just over 24 hours ago. When the boiler appeared inactive (no hot water), displaying the error code E 34.
5) When does it happen? eg, heating coming on or going off.
As soon as we realized the water wasn’t heating up, we checked the radiators and they were still warm, indicating the boiler stopped its normal function presumably very shortly previous to the lack of heat in the tap water.
6) Anything else you feel may be of relevance.
After attempting to re-start the boiler we encountered an error code we never seen before: A 03 indicating the boiler reached or exceeded the 103°, causing it to shut down of course. We followed the instructions and allowed the boiler to cool down before attempting to re-star it, only to see the same problem reoccurring. We did this several times to no avail.
This morning the boiler displayed a rather encouraging “on” reading on the digital display, with the central heating off and the “hot water temperature adjustment” on 3, we turn the tap on. Again no hot water. The boiler fired up making strange noises, steam was coming through the external exhaust (flue), but the digital display was showing a fixed temperature of 11, only to fluctuate briefly towards 14 and later plummeted below 10.
Next we tried to turn the central heating on.
Same as with the hot water, noises and steam. But now the digital display was going crazy from a temperature of around 34/40° raising to over 65 in less than 5 seconds and still raising. This gave us the indication that it was about to over heat again so we immediately switched the central heating dial OFF and desisted any further attempts on the boiler.
- Any assistance/advice will be highly appreciated - [/u]
