hi all,

i want to get some side tees white 25 x 16 (mini trunking). Side tees are where you come off the wall to go on ceiling. I only need three of them. does anyone know of any diy shops in south or north london where these are available? i've looked and found them online but i do not wish to pay £7.50 p&p and upwards for the amount i require. many thanks

So what makes you think it isn't ?

nothing. I just wanted clarification that this is a DIY forum.

I thought the way the forum is changing, rules not being read, other posts not looked at, i thought this was becoming an information forum.

petbro asked a questiopn at 15.30, it would have been cheaper and quicker to buy the parts online than to waste time joining a forum waiting for an answer that will never arrive.

even at minimum wage, by the time I initlay replied it would have been cheaper to order online.

For £7.50 + p&p is it worth joining a forum? NO.

£7.50 + p&p seems reasonable considering they are delivered to your door, no driving, no bus, no pay and display, bargain.

I very rarely buy the accessories because I find that with a pair of trunking cutters and a small amount of silicone a neater job can be made without them.

Based on this comment and numerous others of yours I have read recently , don't you think you would be happier elsewhere. I am concerned that your time here is making you miserable.
Life is too short

You have to move with the times.

I kind of like the way the forum has progressed over the couple of years I have been a member

I do not see the point of people joining a forum and asking "dumb questions"
I fail to see what is dumb about asking where you can purchase "Side Tees", or am I missing the point?
If you don't want to answer something - don't bother and let someone else do it. Admittedly this question may have been better in Electrics UK but not everyone starts off knowing everything about how the forum works.
I am waiting for the owner of this forum to put things back the way they were. A few years ago that question would have been deleted.
Why?????? What is so wrong about asking that question?

boxclever, wrong things start off being small, no one notices / does anything, then they get bigger, by then its too late

If you go to www.d-line.co.uk you will see the various mini trunking items they sell and in the pack you will get various couplings etc. We bought our packs from B&Q and noticed that on the shelves one can pick extra tees. The trunking is good to hide small wires on skirting boards or up walls and blend in with the decor. You can buy them in various colours or even paint them. Hope this helps.
