I've stripped the paper off, back to the old plaster and have misted the walls ready for papering. However, I've used vinyl silk emulsion and most posts I've read say that this is a no-no. Is that correct?

If it is, what can I do to rectify this?

thanks

Yes not a good idea but proberbly will not cause you any problems especially If it was old plaster.Even new plaster theres no rule that says it will all peel off.9 times out of 10 it will bond fine

Will probably bond ok for now but problems may arise in the future as more coats of paint are put over it or wallpaper is hung. The silk emulsion will not penetrate the plaster properly due to it's high level of vinyl content.

Did you water down your mist coat 25%? If so it should penetrate and bond ok.
