I have a separate mixer shower in the bathroom, currently the mixer unit has the screw outlet for the shower pointing downwards, but the new shower I have bought requires the mixer outlet to point upwards. The mixer itself isn't one of the ones which can have the outlet on both sides (their is no hole on the top where I could screw it in).

Is there any reason I can't just unscrew the mixer, rotate it 180 degrees an put it in upside down?

Do the MIs state that the outlet to the shower head must be at the top, or does it end up at the top because the hot and cold connections are on the "wrong" side?

Most showers allow you to rotate the body so the connections are on the correct side.
