Mixer Valve Question

Hi Again,

Was wondering if different water pressure (hot & cold) to a thermostatic valve will damage it? Still got the cold to the shower using the cold water from the tank in the loft (gravity)while the hot is coming from a mains pressure unvented cylinder. Will be like this for a week or so.

It probably will not damage it but I would not risk it.

Apart from that it is unlikely to work properly either!

Thanks Tony - You were right it does not work properly.

Off to the gym to shower now!!

You could probably fool it into working!

Turn off the mains water valve feeding the cylinder, turn on the shower and then slowly open the valve until you can hear it start to make a noise then check the shower temperature and adjust very slightly.

That will not work very well with a genuine Megaflow though ( at least not with out waiting several minutes for it to stabilise. )
