Mixing Matt and Silk Emulsions

I need to paint a living room on the cheap for a lady with limited funds. She has 5L of Tesco Magnolia in Silk and also 5L in Matt, but not enough of one type to finish the job (8L for 2 coats) .
One option is to mix them together and create a Satin finish as she has young kids with grubby fingers, so it would be practical. BUT will this work or will the paint crack later? Thanks

I have done this in the past when i didnt want to by the satin but had both matt and silk. Had no probs with it so far!!
