I never seem to get the mix right when knocking up some mortar for abit of pointing??can anybody tell me what i should be doing? ie building sand or sharp?and what about adding any additive?
Depends what your pointing, stone or brick, could be red sand or yellow.
Mix could be anything from 4/1 to 7/1 blue circle or snowcrete.
You can add lime to the mix, also febmix.
Main thing is to match the existing.
