Moss & Efflorescence on brickwork

Hi Guys,

Its my fist post here so go easy on me.

Yesterday I noticed some Moss on the bottom course of bricks where some stones meet my house on top of that I have some what I think is salt deposits also.

What are the best ways of removing this and also preventing it.
I have moved some of the stones and the layer or sand/mud is very damp. How can I stop this?

Any advice would be great.

It's natural moisture from the ground. You wont stop it causing the moss or salts, and it is not worth worrying about
